"This is a mixtape of some of the best bits I've found digging through the crates at Kingbee these past few years. Most of these records were picked up for under a tenner - not rare gems, just essential stuff I might not have encountered otherwise. The selections are mainly drawn from the racks in the darkened back corners of the shop, ranging from Japanese jazz and Moroccan pop to Bulgarian folk songs and Liberian Highlife. The whole thing is intended as a celebration of a South Manchester institution providing a service that's something of a lost art in 2021, suspended in that perfect sweet spot between the curated expertise of a select record store and the plunder and chaos of a charity shop or car boot sale. Less all-encompassing than Discogs but a million times more navigable. As far as I'm concerned there's no better way to find new music." - Flupke
